Spring Creek Middle School will observe the Week of Respect next week, Oct. 7 through Oct. 10. Schools across the state will participate in activities all week to emphasize a safe and respectful learning environment per NRS 388.1395.
SCMS students and staff are encouraged to “Get Your Blue On” on Thursday, Oct. 10 by wearing blue. This unifying gesture demonstrates that SCMS is committed to reducing instances of discrimination based on race, bullying, or cyberbullying in our schools and treating each other with respect.
The weekly advisory and lunch activities will be centered around this theme and building a stronger school community.

Parents: Your child will be bringing home the 2024-25 Federal Impact Aid Form on or about September 30. These forms are pre-bubbled. All you need to do is update your work status.
Please complete all the fields that pertain to you, date and sign, and have your child return it to their school as soon as possible. By returning this form, you are helping our school district receive the appropriate amount of funding for our schools from the federal government.

We are excited to announce that intramurals will start as originally scheduled for October per ECSD central office! The first sports will be basketball and cheer.

All students will need a physical before they can try out. If they they do not have a physical, they will not be allowed to participate in tryouts.

We have made adjustments to several bus routes following the first few weeks of school. Most changes for Spring Creek are minor, while the Elko routes have undergone more significant updates. If your student rides the Dragonfly bus to Adobe, please be aware that this route has the most notable changes. NJHS members are putting on a Guess The # of Skittles Activity during all lunches throughout this week. Help support NJHS and get to know the members by guessing the # of Skittles in the jar at lunch. It's $1 per guess or $5 for 7 guesses! Closest guess at the end of the week will win the jar of Skittles and will be announced at the end of the day.

There will be snacks sold during lunch, starting next week. Students, you must have money in your account to purchase a snack. There is a limit of 2 snacks per student at the beginning of the year.
7th and 8th graders- If you were planning on participating in track, the track season will not be in Fall. The meets that were scheduled are postponed. We are sorry about the change. We will make announcements about the updates with sports when we have more information.

b. All the reasons are listed on the form to request a schedule change.

2. Open house will continue on Wednesday, August 21st , 2024 from 2:00-5:00pm.
3. Supply lists are posted on the school website under programs/academics. These are from last year and there should be minimal changes. Please note the Elko County School District provides all necessary supplies for all students in order to meet their educational needs. However, we know that some parents choose to buy supplies for their children. This list is optional.
4. 1 st Day of School – Monday, August 26th. Students need to report to their 1st period/advisory class by 7:15am.
